What's New at BR&D Landscape? New for 2007:
  • Huge Winter Discounts Being Offered: See the Fall 2007 Newsletter for details (click here).
  • Vacation Pond Maintenance Service: Available through our Pond Service Division. Call 303-660-5015 and ask for Kelly.
  • Classes: at Arapahoe Acres and Big Tool Box/Highland Garden Center on September 22, 2007 on Fall Cleaning and Winterization Tips/Techniques and whether or not to shut down your pond for the winter.
  • Water Lily Sale: Two 5g for $40 at BR&D Location.
  • Cold Water Bacteria: Not only is it great in early spring and fall for keeping your water balanced, some people are saying it reduces string algae. Use it during warm weeks in the winter, then start it consistently in March along with SAB.
  • EcoShade: Can be added to your water, turning it blue, to create early-season shade, which helps minimize spring string-algae blooms.
  • pondlifestyles.com: Check out www.PondLifestyles.com for lots of information on ponds and a chance to post your own pond pictures.
  • Classes: BR&D will be giving free pond classes at two local garden centers this season. Arapahoe Acres and Big Tool Box/Highland Gardens Center will be the locations for classes March 31 on spring start-up, plants and fish. Classes on pond ecology, string algae and pond myths will be the topic on June 9 with September covering fall cleaning and winterization. Contact us for the later two dates as the time approaches.
  • Pond Tunnels: In our earlier ponds, we built shelves to create hiding places for fish, called "fish garages". A new idea is "tunnels" consisting of drain pipe laid on the bottom against a shelf and then concealed with rock and gravel. Please contact us for more information.
  • New Water Garden Partner: Enery Water Gardens for pond plants and fish at: 7601 Indiana Street in Arvada, 303-359-1783.
